Christopher and Jasmine Ball have always had a heart to serve their community, but it wasn't until October 2015, when the idea for BlackTie Magazine began to take form. In October 2015, the country celebrated the 20th anniversary and commemoration of the Million Man March in Washington D.C. That commemoration inspired the husband and wife duo to begin their search for minority-owned businesses in the area that they could support.

What started as a list with a handful of businesses, quickly grew to well over 4 pages (and growing) of a variety of minority-owned businesses in the area ranging everywhere from auto and grocery to retreats, gas stations and more!

BlackTie Magazine was created to share the stories of the minority-owned businesses in the area that the couple had a chance to meet as well as bridge the gap within the community, and share valuable resources in various topics including finances, health and wellness, relationships, business and everything in between.

We love reading all of our submissions and seeing what you have to say or how you’re impacting the community! It’s easy, just send a quick email to info@theblacktiemagazine.com. If you’re an artist, public figure, or have an event coming up, be sure to also add us to your press list so we can share our support with our readers!
